About Vincent Chan
Vincent Chan ( 陳德誠 ), a Documentary Filmmaker and Outdoor Adventure Photographer, loves to bring his audience a new perspective on the world through his lens. His imageries always leave you a lot of room to ponder and imagine. He founded his image studio, Compose The Story, with a passion for telling people stories through the use of photos and films. Apart from photographing snowy mountains and wild nature, in recent years he also has produced documentary films about trailblazers who love pushing their limits through outdoor adventures. His motto is – participating in others’ challenges is a challenge of his own. Vincent’s recent works include “Never Settle”, a 45-min documentary depicting the story of a former world-class rock climber later became paralyzed due to a car accident, Lai Chi-wai, who attempted to ascend a 320-meter-tall skyscraper by using purely his upper body strength. “The Circle” is another 20-min documentary of his featuring a trio-team challenging themselves physically and mentally to encircle the whole Hong Kong by kayak over five days. His works are collected in Apportfolio Asia《亞洲青年創作集錄 Vol.05》and media titles such as GoOut Magazine, Elle Men Magazine, Milk Magazine, and RTHK, etc. He has worked with various brands and organizations including Sony, Canon, The North Face and the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of Hong Kong. Vincent’s recent documentaries and adventures he filmed are as follows: • “Never Settle”, his documentary about wheelchair climber, Lai Chi-wai, challenged to ascend the 88-floor Nina Tower (Urban Climb 300M+) • Wong Ho Chun challenged himself to run 500 kilometres in five days (Project Endless) • The behind-the-scenes documentary of landscape photographer, Kelvin Yuen • The Eye of The Big Cat of Sheung Shan • Paul Cheung solo climbed three mountains in one day (Project Alone) • “The Circle”, his documentary about Ben Woo and his two teammates encircled Hong Kong by kayak in five days (Searathon 360 HK) • Hong Kong Four Trails Ultra Challenge (HK4TUC) • The film to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of Hong Kong (AFCD) Contact
